Lake Hartwell State Recreational Area is a gateway to the mountain country of South Carolina located at the South Carolina and Georgia border. It is situated on the Cherokee Foothills National Scenic Highway.
Lake Hartwell was formed as a reservoir when the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers built Hartwell Dam for flood control and hydroelectric power. Lake Hartwell quickly became a popular destination for recreation, including boating and fishing. 56,000 acre Lake Hartwell is known for excellent fishing. Striped and hybrid bass, largemouth, crappie, bream and catfish are common catches.
Lake Hartwell offers super hiking trails, camping facilities, cabins, and lake houses along its 962 miles of shoreline. There are also public park areas and marinas, including over 80 public boat launch sites.
One of the unique features of Lake Hartwell cabins is the availability of inexpensive, one-room camper cabins. Enjoy bunk beds, a porch and electricity of the cabin, but live rustically with no running water or bathrooms. Use of nearby campground facilities is available with the rustic cabin rental.
There are a number of vacation homes and personal cabin rentals available at or nearby Lake Hartwell. To find out more information about reserving a rental for your South Carolina Vacation visit www.lake-hartwell.com.
Pets on a leash are allowed throughout most of the recreational area. Pets are not allowed inside Carolina Camper Cabins.

Post a CommentThis sounds lovely; I'm not sure I'd like a "rustic cabin with no running water" (although I grew up spending summers in one!) but it sounds like a wonderful vacation spot!
This sounds like a great place to visit. Thanks for sharing this.
