I have lived in resort area's for a long time, one of the problem's that we locals face is finding a place to eat that is good, reasonable and makes you, the local, feel welcome. There are many places to eat, drink, dance, etc. in South Shore Lake Tahoe, In fact all around the lake there are places that go after the tourist dollar. That is just fine, that is what our economy is all about. However, the locals that directly work and support that economy day in and day out need a place they can go to that has what locals in this area crave, great food, great atmosphere, great prices.
Tep's Villa Roma is that place. Great, great, great. The people there know what it's like to live in a place with a huge transient population. Know what it's like to work for the visitor dollars. Knowing this they work hard to make the locals feel more than just welcome, they make us feel special. The hostesses remember our faces and where we like to sit, the waitresses remember our favorite wine, and menu choices.
The restaurant has a wonderful fire place, many tables have a view of it. There is one of the best salad bars available and in fact makes a great meal in it self. This is because a great minestrone soup is included on the salad bar. The bread that comes with the meal is wonderful and I must be careful not to fill up on it before my entree comes. This is decidedly an Italian restaurant. Pizza, all manner of pasta, and many traditional Italian dishes are available. The Lasagna is one of my favorites. Firm, not watery, it holds its shape on the plate, served piping hot.
Now on to the banquet halls, WOW! A tourist doesn't need to rent a banquet hall. . . or do they? Coming to town for a wedding, Tep's Villa Roma is the place for your reception. Are you a local couple getting married? Again, Tep's is the place. They can handle groups any size as the hall has moving wall's. See the web site for the particulars.
So locals and tourists, give Tep's Villa Roma a try and tell them you read this review at The People's Media Company.
