Southern Illinois Zombie Walks Scheduled

Southern Illinois residents should be prepared for Saturday, October 30 when they will see zombies, zombies everywhere! Two southern Illinois towns will be holding zombie walks on that date and real live undead zombies will take to the streets.

Carbondale Zombie Walk 2010, Halloween Edition
The Carbondale Zombie Walk will be held starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, October 30 starting at the 710 Bookstore parking lot. Registration for the event is $8 per zombie and includes a t-shirt if registration is received by October 25. Registered participants will also receive coupons and special discounts at local businesses.

Pre-walk activities will include a makeup tent opening at 1 p.m. for participants who need help being zombified. The makeup is free for registered zombie walkers and will cost $5 for non-registered zombies.

The zombivities will include the zombie walk at 4 p.m., a group photo at 5:15 and zombie movies starting at 5:30 at the town square pavilion. There will also be prizes and drawings given out during the event. There will also be a zombie costume contest for a $1 fee. The winner will receive all entry fees for the contest.

Zeigler Zombie Walk 2010
Zeigler, Illinois will also be overtaken by zombies on October 30. The registration fee for the Zeigler Zombie Walk is $10 and includes a t-shirt, opportunities to win prizes and free makeup assistance. Pre-registration to guarantee a t-shirt ends October 15.
