These photos transcend the lives of the couple. The New York pictures where taken mostly before Janis met Eric online. The Maine photos where taken before Eric met Janis. Some of the Vermont photos were taken by Eric while still single, but the rest of these Vermont photos (Merk Forest and Farmland Center) where taken by Eric and Janis after they met in 2005 on meetchristians.com. After getting to know each other pretty well, Janis moved with Eric to Southern Vermont where they began their lives together.
It's not just about taking photos for Janis. She says, "It's about the discovery of nature when you're out in a field, armed only with your camera. There's the sense of discovery and joy of finding something new, but there are also the serene moments like during the sunset when the world is slowly falling to sleep. Those are the moments I look for. The moments I like to capture are of beauty and emotion. Every picture has a story, memory or emotion attached to it. I enjoy every aspect of photography, and I am thrilled to share my photos with others."
Eric likes that he can "capture something of beauty and feeling and instantly transform them into art". He also likes to take photos of family events to capture memories and create a photo journal of the events.
As individuals they take beautiful photos of nature, but bring they bring their photos together for all to see. They both love to take photographs of sunsets and sunrises, flora and fauna, ships and sea life.
The couple has shared their photos with others and several times they have heard wonderful comments. Due to those comments, "Sky, Land and Sea" is now available on lulu.com at: http://www.lulu.com/content/lulustudio-photo-book/sky-land-and-sea/4932098
