Southwest Vacation Packages for the Frugal Consumer

Lisa B.
My husband and I love to travel, specifically to Las Vegas. And while I enjoy doing all the research involved with planning a vacation, I sometimes find it to be a bit tedious. It doesn't have to be anymore! And I'm going to tell you how.

We tend to make our way to Las Vegas several times a year and at first we booked through a travel agent. We noticed that she was always going through Southwest for any packages she booked for us. So we went home and did some searching of our own. And thats when we found it: Southwest Vacation Packages(can be found at http://swavacations.com). This site is fantastic. It's basically one-stop shopping for all of your vacation needs. It will allow you to book your airfare, hotel, car rentals and ground transportation all in about 5 minutes. A few examples of popular destinations include Las Vegas, Reno, Disneyland, Universal Studios, New York City and Hawaii. They have something for everyone.

Now that we've established how incredibly convenient it is, let's talk about another important factor when booking a vacation. That's right, price! I have not been able to beat, or even match, these prices booking everything separately. For example, our most recent trip ended up costing us $570 after taxes. That total is for two people and includes room accommodations for 3 nights at Treasure Island, round trip airfare from Lubbock, TX and ground transportation to/from the airport. Not bad, right? Now let's take a look at what I would have paid had I booked separately. Round trip airfare to Las Vegas for 2 adults ends up being $590 after taxes, that price is for the Southwest internet special. Three nights at Treasure Island would cost us $297 (before taxes) and ground transportation averages about $22 for two people. That brings the grand total to $909. It not only ends up saving you over $300, but it saves you a lot of time and frustration. How can you go wrong?

We have booked vacations through Southwest approximately 10 times in the last 3 years alone, and have yet to encounter a single problem. We've never had any overbooked flights, delays or lost reservations. It is completely stress-free. Simply log on to the site, http://www.swavacations.com, choose your destination, dates and hotel. A confirmation screen will come up showing the break down of all the charges, enter in your credit card information and you are all set to go. All of your tickets and documentation will arrive at your home about 3 weeks after booking. How easy is that?
