Searching Out the Unique Souvenir at Disney World

When you think about shopping at Walt Disney World, do you immediately think of mouse ears and Mickey sweatshirts? Princess tiaras and coffee mugs? If so, then you are right to a certain extent. But Disney truly goes beyond the typical vacation souvenir and offers up surprising merchandise options. Whether you're looking for a unique gift or a typical souvenir, Disney has you covered.

If you're searching out a unique treasure for yourself or a fantastic gift to bring home for someone who is not a big Mickey fan, you won't have to look far to find exactly the item you are looking for! Checking out the shops of the World Showcase in Epcot will have you browsing for hours to bring home unique and country specific gifts and souvenirs!

Moving around the lagoon going clockwise, you begin in Mexico. Maracas, sombreros, beautiful and colorful Oaxacan wood carvings, piƱatas and puppets all bring a taste of Mexico that you can bring home. Next is Norway, where you can start a collection of trolls or rosemal. For those willing to spend a little more, Norway sells perfume and cologne and exceptionally beautiful wool sweaters.

In China, you can check out the lanterns, parasols, slippers and fans. Ask a cast member to print your name or the recipients name in Chinese right on the fan or parasol for a true personal touch. In Germany, you can bring home crystal, beer steins, cuckoo clocks, assorted chocolates and candies, and many different Christmas ornaments. Start a new family traditions with the German pickle ornament!

As you continue clockwise, check out the chocolates, masks and wines in Italy. Next is the American pavilion where you can find Disney merchandise decked out in red, white and blue. For more exotic gifts, continue on to Japan where the Mitsukoshi Department Store will keep you fascinated for hours. From trading cards up to fine jewelry, this store has multiple tastes of Japan. Purchase fans, Japanese snacks, chopsticks, toys, kimonos, kitchenware and more!

Morocco showcases books and lamps alongside their traditional hats and cymbals. Rugs and belly dancing articles are also plentiful! Next door, France showcases perfumes, candies, kitchenware and herbs alongside beautiful art.

In the United Kingdom, you can find toys, English candy, assorted teas and teacups and pots, pub coasters, beer glasses and more. And finally, Canada offers up an assortment of maple goodies, Christmas ornaments, winter clothing and hockey items.

There is truly something for everyone in the World Showcase! And for those of you interested in traditional Disney merchandise, head to Mouse Gears at the front of the park to complete your shopping!
