During a recent visit to my chiropractor, I was admonished (good humouredly) by his receptionist for bringing my cold germs with me. She asked me if I had tried silver and I told her it didn't go with my skin coloring. After she laughed, I asked her to explain what she meant. She relayed to me the story of her recent cold and how it had been greatly shorted and the symptoms minimized once she started taking silver.
As I was up for anything that would shorten and lessen my discomfort and because my allergies often allow colds to become sinus infections, I walked next door to the herb and health store and asked them what they recommended. They pointed me to several products, none of which were cheap-after all silver is still selling at about $16.00 per ounce. As I was up for a try and not yet ready to raid my savings account, I opted for Sovereign Silver, Bio-Active Silver Hydrosol in the 2 ounce spray, which set me back $14.95. I decided that was a small price to pay, if it worked, considering that a doctor's visit and a prescription for antibiotics could run me close to $100.00.
The label says it is a dietary supplement for immune support. The ingredients were very easy to read-96% actively charged silver particles and purified silver, how's that for all natural. The bottle said it was easily absorbed, perfectly safe and 99.999% pure. The average dose for an adult is 30 sprays or 1 teaspoon, fifteen sprays for those under 60 pounds. The label says it is safe for the whole family based on the EPA Daily Oral Silver Dose. My bottle contained 12 doses.
I started using it as soon as I arrived home. Thirty sprays under the tongue will end up on your shirt, if you don't tilt your head back. You are supposed to hold it under your tongue for 30 seconds, then swallow. For those who don't know, sublingual (under the tongue) medicating is superior to medicating through the digestive tract. It gets into the body system faster and is subject to less degradation. (Find out more about sublingual administration by reading the Wiki reference in the links.) The label recommends one dose daily for maintenance and seven doses for short term immune support, with other dosages in between. I decided to take the middle ground and did four daily.
It tastes a bit like mineral water, a bit "metallic," but is not unpalatable. By the end of the day my sinuses were draining. At the end of the three days, I barely remembered I had a cold and my sinuses were clearer than they were before I was sick. So, does it work? For me, I have to say yes. I plan to buy another bottle and keep it in my herbal remedy cupboard. I may even start taking it daily-even though silver is not my color. : )
Note: I found the two ounce Sovereign Silver Bio Active Silver Hydrosol Spray that I purchased in the store online for 20% off, at the link below. Shipping to my zip code was an additional $2.00.
Caution: It is important to choose a silver product that is not contaminated by the presence of salts (ionic silver), proteins, compounds, stabilizers, and oxidation. Read the label carefully.
