Soy Candles Make a New Healthy Hand Lotion!

Sea Shepherd
One of my favorite and thoughtful Christmas gifts that I received from my daughter was this soy candle in jar. She was aware of how I was trying to go more organic and green in my life. After she tested this soy candle out in the store she realized that this was not just an ordinary candle. The soy candle liquefies and doubles into a silky lotion. You can apply it to any part of your skin, elbows, hands, and feet. The wax is not hot, just warm. Then once it dries on your skin, it leaves you with a silky feeling. I even tried it on my face and felt a soothing difference in the texture. However, you shouldn't leave it on your face if you plan to apply makeup because there could be some wax residue. I found it to be a special aide against these harsh winter climates which can leave your skin dry and rough. Ok, I do live in Florida, but it does get cold here too; leaving our skin chapped and dry.

The candle leaves your home healthy and environmentally friendly because it is smokeless. Unlike a traditional candle which will cause soot and put out carcinogens into the air, the soy candle is clean and green. Research shows that soy candles do burn longer than ordinary candles.

It also provides a wonderful aromatherapy. Between the benefits of aromatherapy and the silky lotion it creates, you feel like you have your own home spa just with a little candle. You don't have to buy those special paraffin home baths which can be costly and messy, just to get that soft skin from a wax treatment. As a matter of fact, some of those paraffin baths can get hot enough to burn your skin if you are sensitive to temperature. However, that won't happen with the soy candle.

Some Ideas for Soy Candles

Think about traveling with this jar and have a spa in your own hotel room.

You can use it as a massage treatment after a long days work writing articles on AC.

What a perfect gift for someone who has everything.

How about using it as a party favor for a sweet sixteen birthdays, showers, wedding, etc.

It's great for softening those cuticles!

Give a soy candle for someone who has allergies because it is made from 100% soy beans.

My daughter bought this soy candle at "My Mountain Cabin" which is a little gift store in Helen, Georgia. It also has an online site called GiftbasketGreeting.com. However, I have found there are other soy candles with the same benefits on the Internet.

Hi - I make and sell candles and have recently switched to soy - in fact, I'm using soy in all my products (candles, scrubs, lotions, and soaps) because not only is it a great moisturizer, it's natural AND IT'S AMERICAN GROWN! This not only frees us from dependence on foreign oil (paraffin wax is a petroleum product), but it also helps our American farmers. Take pride in soy! Visit my site anytime: www.98poundwickling.com. Thanks and GO SOY!

Great article! My girlfriend was reading it, under my account. As I was passing by her, I thought I saw the word sex but then I realized the word was soy. Mara and I finished reading your article together. Let's face it, silky hands are sexy.

I make this candle. I sell them at our local Farmers Market at a great price 2 for $10.00. They serve as a candle, aromatherapy and lotion all in one. And many more other ways you just have to be creative. I love the fact that they are earth friendly and non-toxic.

Wow...my daughter bought me one of these... I'll certainly give it a try, especially around my cuticles.. I'm always cleaning (imagine that), HA! and this sounds like a good way to combat the dryness.
