SoyJoy: Natural Fruit and Soy Bar

Alicia Bodine
I came across SoyJoy's website one day when hunting through some freebie forums. I love to do that in my spare time. Anyway, Soyjoy has a neat free program. Soyjoy will give you 3 free soy fruit nutrition bars if you promise to share 2 of these bars with your friends. That sounds fair. I have plenty of friends that I know who would love to taste test a new nutrition bar so I sent for the free bars.

I received the free samples today in the mail in a cute little box. I was given apple, berry, and raisin almond. I am not keen on almonds so I decided to try the apple. It tasted just fine to me, but not anything spectacular. My kids tried a bite. One like it and the other one spit it out. I guess it is a matter of personal preference. If you like soy, however, I think you will enjoy this bar.

Each bar contains 140 calories, 4g of protein, 0g of trans fat, and is gluten free. The apple bar has 2% vitamin A, 2% Calcium, 12% Vitamin C, and 4% iron. These percentages change based on the fruit that is included in each bar. If you visit the website you can click on the flavor bar (there is also a mango coconut) and it will give you the nutritional information for that bar. They are all made with soy and dried fruit.

I like that Soyjoy has a registered dietician on staff to answer any of your questions. Allegra Burton, M.P.H., R.D. is the dietician. Her picture and bio are on the website, which helps you to see who you are talking to when you ask a question. Just fill out the form and she will reply with an answer to your question.

Cost: Soyjoy can be found at most grocery and drug stores. I found it at my local Acme and CVS. If you are interested in saving money purchasing these bars visit Amazon.com. There you can buy cases of 24 bars for $23.98. That is about $1.00 per bar.

Soyjoy is also active in providing bars for marathons and charity events. They have sent vans from Texas to New York. They teach the benefits of soy which include the following 3 things: a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, enhanced bone density, and a reduced risk of certain cancers including prostate cancer. Feel free to visit the website and learn more about how soy is beneficial to your body's health.
