If you are on the North Shore of Oahu and are in the mood for Italian food, you might want to check out Spaghettini on your way through town. It is a small place located in the middle of Haleiwa. It is right next to the only two grocery stores in Haleiwa. It is directly next door to the Malama Market Place formerly known as Fujioka's and across the street from the IGA supermarket.

The location is ideal as it shares the large lot next to the grocery store; so parking is never really an issue. It is not really a restaurant type of place either as it reminds me more of a Sonic Burger type of atmosphere. If you are familiar with Sonic Burger then you are familiar with the set up at Spaghettini. The location was the old local food joint called Country Drive. There a few picnic style tables out front for seating so space is limited during busy times.

Once you get there you walk right up to the counter and order your food, much like a fast food restaurant. The main dishes that they serve are pastas and pizza. If you are looking to get the most for your money you might want to go with the pizza slice and drink. The items are rather pricey on the high end as a specialty pasta dish such as spaghetti and meatballs and a drink will cost you close to ten dollars, depending on the type that you order. For the amount that you get for the price of a slice of pizza, I would opt to get the pizza if you are a little hungrier. The one thing I did enjoy was their breads and the seasoning they put on them.

I am a bigger eater, so that may have accounted for my feeling that the pasta dishes were a little smaller, however I have spoken to a few people who have felt the same way. There is an upside to this though as the food is actually really good. I guess that is why the prices are a little higher than you would normally see. You are not paying for the atmosphere, that's for sure as your seating is right next to the main road and you are eating as cars are whizzing by. If you are really in the mood for Italian food and don't mind paying a little more and sitting outside, then you will enjoy Spaghettini.
