Spam Casserole

This Spam Doesn't Come in Your In-box, Instead It's Fresh from the Oven

Beverly Hobbs
Spam is a canned spiced ham food made by the Hormel Company. Originally introduced in 1937 under the name "Hormel Spiced Ham". the name was changed to Spam to help the canned pork product have higher sales. Spam became widely known during the aftermath of World War II. America sent England cases of Spam to help those suffering from hunger after the War.

Spam is very popular in Hawaii and in Guam. It was first introduced to these areas after World War II when American G.I.'s were stationed there. It was economically impossible to have fresh meat shipped to Guam and Hawaii so the U.S. sent rations of Spam. Spam is so popular in Hawaii that the local Burger Kings began selling Spam sandwiches in 2007 and soon surpassed McDonalds in sales.
