I just rediscovered the Dum-Dum lollipops as an adult. Not for myself, but for my two and a half year old son. Whenever we would take long car rides he would need his "ba ba" to drink for security. I wanted to break him out of this habit once he turned two and needed to think of a replacement. I tried the tootsie pop lollipops because that was all we had in our house. The were ok until I realized my son couldn't eat them because of the tootsie roll in the middle. Thankfully he handed it back to me and said done. That was the last time I gave him the tootsie pops. When I brought him to get a haircut, they had the Dum-Dum lollipops on the counter. I figured it couldn't hurt to try one. Well, it turned out they were perfect for him. Just the right size for a toddler and nothing in the middle to choke on, phew!
Flavors: Watermelon, Strawberry, Cherry, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Root Beer, Sour Apple, Cream Soda, Butterscotch, Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Cherry Cola, Pink Lemonade, Tangerine, and the Mystery Flavor.
Where can I find them?
Well, you can find them in any supermarket or candy store to buy. However, you can also find them at most doctor's offices, haircutters, salons, pediatrician's, etc. I have seen them for sale ranging anywhere from $7.50 all the way to $13.00 for a bag of 360 lollipops. That is a great price for so many lollipops.
Appearance:
Of course they come in all different colors because of the different flavors. They aren't very big. An adult could probably take one bite and eat the whole lollipop. They are probably about the size of a dime and round, like a ball. They come on a stick, needless to say. They also come individually wrapped which is great for an on the go surprise. Usually I keep the wrapper because my son never finishes the whole pop. This way I can rewrap it and either save it for later or save it to throw away.
Taste:
No, I haven't tasted all of them. I know that my son likes to eat all of the different flavors. If he doesn't like something he usually says yucky. So far so good with the lollipops, he hasn't said yucky yet. I have tasted the sour apple ones and they definitely taste like sour apple. They were a little tart for my liking but not bad in a pinch.
