Spark Your Child's Creativity with Their Own Table and Chairs

Marki E.
Most of us can remember when eating at Grandma's house on Thanksgiving, the children ate at the little table. Of course, at the time it was nothing more than a fold out card table. Children love to have their own table specially designated for them and designs of these tables now are countless. They range from the standard design to a table that the children have to assemble themselves.

Having a table and chairs their own size, children are drawn into their own creative world. Instead of having to kneel in adult sized chairs, children can sit comfortably and still be able to work on the table top with better vision of their projects. These tables and chairs can be bought in the design of your existing dining room table or a multitude of different styles.

One such style is a farm themed table and matching chairs with the table painted as a barnyard scene. Combine that with toy tractors and implements, plastic farm animals and farmer hats and overalls to wear and children can go to the country farm without leaving the house.

There is a Noah's ark style table, shaped like the ark, with chairs modeled after animals, two by two, or a jungle theme with the table shaped like a tree and the chairs like jungle animals.

Another choice is the ever popular tea party table and chairs. Themes on these tables can range from Swan Lake to Raggedy Ann and Andy. Mostly done in pink for little girls, they are as beautiful as they are inviting for your child's friends to come over of an afternoon tea.

For little boys, there are tables designed for their toy trucks and cars. The table is painted with a road scene with winding paths to follow along with matchbox cars and toy bulldozers. A firefighter table can also be a good choice for them to play with their toy firetrucks and fireman.

A table with a unique design is one that the children have to put together. It is made out of foam pieces that snap in place to form a table or, put together in another fashion, will form a toy box. When they are ready to use it, they empty their drawing supplies and art material from the toy box and reconfigure the pieces to make the table.

Many of the tables are designed with storage spaces underneath to keep your children's books, crayons, construction paper and art supplies all in one place. Your child won't have to spend half the morning trying to find the the things they need to work on and art project as it's all right there in the storage space.

The possibilities are almost endless. There are so many designs to choose from, your child may have a hard time making a choice. Once a choice is made, though, their table and chairs will offer them their own place in the home for hours of creative playing and with the comfort and size specially designed just for children.
