Spartan's Muse

Garrett H.
In a soldier's eye,
Braving a cruel void
Of order and truth in shade,
Your form bequeaths the mystery.
Injustice reigns the cost
Of artifacts found, lost.

From a pedestal
Of light and knowledge,
The violets and blues entwined
Comment shouts from a distant dark.
The dark of zealotry
Answerable to thee.

A deserving hope
Fights to find the orb
Tangled in fury abroad,
Alone in the ruins of storm.
Crippled by ancients slain
Man feels your gracious pain

The Patient Seven
Guarded, revered, primed,
Reveal plots to derelicts,
Hint at their origins of old.
Purpose placed on His fear
Your words He longs to hear.

No mote of duty
In a soldier's eye
Leads Him to a long doomed fray,
Not as claws clutch in fitful truce.
Destiny they will know
For you have made it so.

Melancholy times
Once more reach your code,
A calculated passing
Will desert you by His firm side.
Though freedom you have made
Wars of beasts and worlds fade.
