Hello, my name is Jim you know me better as Godfather89 on certain video hosting sites. I am here to speak my mind on a variety of issues. Throughout this project you will know what I believe the real issues are. I hope that you will all being willing to listen to what is on my mind because, it is on your mind to, even if it is just left on the back burner of our minds.
Now I am going to talk about for the next 5 videos a few reasons why there exist problems in ones personal life. I am sure that there is at least one you can relate to. I am also going to be asking common sense questions with regards to each section. These are expression of my opinion, you may not agree with them but than again people are different and therefore, should not have to agree with all these statements. I ask that you be opened minded and humble yourself.
I will be discussing religion in this video project and will be taking relevant quotes from Gnostic and Biblical sources. So from my position I talk from a Christian and Gnostic mindset. Anything I say when talking about religion comes from a Christian perspective. However, I prefer reason of blind following yet I still my claims on atheism. I am not attacking anyone who follows the belief but the belief itself. I also have a few quotes from historical people who make valid points in my presentations. I am a practical person and like to apply things in a practical way. Throughout this project I will help you apply what I say practically!
I have been working on this video project since Mid-November and adding various ideas to this project since December 30th, 2007, there is a lot to cover so, without further introductions let us begin... This 11 Days project has been made to make controversy, it starts out obvious, yet it shows things you may not know and is therefore here to help you see the world with better clarity.
II. Hypocrisy and Contradiction
If there is one thing anyone cannot stand, it is when people say one thing but do another thing. This is a great reason to explain why problems exist in ones life! Have you ever noticed how many times you contradict yourself in your life? It is just about the same amount as people around you contradict themselves. With hypocrisy and contradiction comes self-interest and personal gain. People contradict themselves so than they have a greater chance of having more for themselves.
Example: Someone says "Don't do it that way!" fully knowing that the way you are doing it will get you more of what you want! Than fully knowing that they do it the way they told you not to do it thus, improving there chances of getting more of they want.
Contradiction is an indirect form of robbery! They take from you what is yours and you may let them if, you listen to there contradiction. Now does this mean all forms of contradiction are negative? At the moment I cant think of why contradicting yourself is beneficial but if you can think of a reason why being a hypocrite is positive than I would suggest asking yourself why you think that way and if you trace it back to your ego than it is not good. What about your health? Would you contradict yourself with regards to your own health? Here are three examples that you may already know:
Example: Health professional agree that exposing yourself to UV Rays on a daily basis for extended periods of time is unhealthy to you. Fully knowing that people in my community still go out to the tanning salon waste there money getting a tan and sometimes ending up so dark that there skin is damaged.
Example: Health professional agree that smoking cigarettes is unhealthy and can lead to health problems. Fully knowing this people still smoke and when they say to themselves "Oh I will be able to stop when I want to!" They can't help but have one more cigarette even if it's just a puff!
Example: Hopefully someone listening to this has known someone who has been affected by, drunk driving and will be able to see how contradicting can even kill you. Your friends say "Do not drink and drive!" and one night they drink and drive and if there not lucky to just get home they either get into an accident and kill someone and possibly themselves or they get caught by the cops and there put into prison for DWI or DUI.
Contradicting yourself can have pretty big consequence on your life and potentially those around you! Those examples that were mentioned above where concerning your health now apply it to other aspects in your life! Ask yourself "Why do I do them?" The first step to ending the contradictions is to mean what you say! After you have done this, Practice being mindful or living in the moment. In other words meaning what you say do not mean the opposite in the moment. Once you master yourself and controlling your egoistic contradicting behavior than go out and start helping others. Do not lie to yourself if you still have contradictory urges fix them and then starting helping others. At the very least if you want to help people; help them while you're helping yourself so no one can say you're contradicting yourself.
The worst part to contradicting behavior is that sometimes one might not even know they are contradicting themselves. They may do things that contradict themselves in an unconscious manner, thus it is important to be constantly aware what you are doing and ask yourself consciously from time to time "Just, what am I Doing and why am I doing it?"
III. Violence
Ego's ultimate response to fear and being misinformed manifest into violence. Why do we attack people? If you look violence is traced back to negative feelings, preconceived thoughts or miscommunication whether on accident or on purpose. Violence is a destructive human quality and needs to be willingly tamed at the individual level.
However, there is something that should be known about violence as its roots have more meaning than the overextended result. It all starts out as anger of a perceived injustice. However this anger may start out as a noble need to correct the perceived injustice. However, what some people tend to forget is that anger has the opportunity every time for one to lose control and turn into violence.
However, even ones anger can also start out as a perceived fear and even being misinformed. We may hear something that is a lie to invoke fear in us. However, we may not know how to react to that fear. This is why violence is formed; it is a poor reaction of anger founded in an injustice, in fears and even in misinformation. Instead of going to the source of our anger we often go for the results of our anger which bring us down even more!
Example: So when you see someone giving you a hard time it is best to go to the source and talk to them alone on why they do whatever they do to you, rather than just going to the result which would be to try and avoid the person who picks on you! Sometimes it is best to deal with it. If you try to fix the problem and the problem does not go away you should perhaps consider taking away the anger and instead learn from it. Once you learn from it the problem goes away on its own.
