The event is called Holiday Lights at the Beach. Every year after Thanksgiving threw New Years the businesses along the boardwalk put up lights along the boardwalk. Then you can drive down 25 blocks of light along the beach. From driving by lights, to driving under them to driving threw the 12 Days of Christmas you will enjoy every minute of it!
This year the Holiday lights run through November 16, 2007 - January 1, 2008 Sunday-Thursday, 5:30pm-10:00pm, Friday-Saturday, 5:30pm-11:00pm. The cost is $10 per car admission (daily), $45 per motor coach or vehicle larger than 15 passenger vans.
With this drive not only do you get views of amazing lights and the beach but the hotels along the beach too. This is one of Virginia Beaches little know events, but the people that do know about it travel from miles around to take a look!
This event was named the Top 20 November Events. There are over 250 light displays on the beach and behind hotels. Many will play up themes in the back of the hotel, pools and beaches and such.
Now, this event also ties in with the Norfolk Botanical Gardens lights. They sell a dual ticket and many of the light themes play off each other. They sell a dual ticket for $15 for both locations per car. My suggestion is to get a friend or two together and split the cost.
The Beach Lights gives you a free CD and the Botanical Lights gives out a calendar and if you donate a dollar to a foundation for kids you get a free flower plant!
The Botanical Garden lights is an amazing drive threw lights it follows their gardens and has a rose display and more. They have a dedication to the Navy in lights and a huge spider web to drive threw too!
This ticket you purchase allows you to see both for a low price and you don't have to visit them on the same day you can spread you holiday fun out over two days!
This is a great family event get the kids in their PJs and a nice warm blanket and go drive through the lights.
If you choose to do only of the lights shows they offer AAA and military discounts. The botanical gardens off a discount for members also.
These events offer a special pricing for busses and limos. If great for groups and to just have a girls night out and enjoy the wonderful time of year!
If you visit HERE you can get a $1 off coupon.
Beware though these places take only cash so pull some cash out at before you get there and enjoy the show it's sure to get you in the Christmas spirit!!
