I Say Spectacular when it Comes to Mt. Shasta Because the Area is so Beautiful and the Views, Are, Well, Spectacular
I say spectacular when it comes to Mt. Shasta because the area is so beautiful and the views, are, well, spectacular! So, I think a wedding here would be nothing less than stunning.
Where to hold your wedding ceremony and reception is one of the most important decisions you'll make about your wedding day. Your wedding venue will set the tone for the entire event. Today, weddings are held just about anywhere with vineyards and wineries being the most popular.
The Trinity Mountain Resort offers a relaxed wedding venue with a pristine wilderness environment. Its 40 acres sits at about 5,000-foot elevation which gives you warm days and cool nights. You might have your ceremony under a decorated canopy in a beautiful meadow with your reception nearby. This site works very well for a destination wedding because you and your guests can rent out the entire facility for the weekend. They have several cabins for rent as well as areas for camping. The Bear Cabin is on three levels with a kitchen, bath, living room, bedroom, patio and private campfire. Their Chalet Cabin has five sleeping areas with a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There are additional motels in nearby towns if you have more guests than the resort can accommodate. (Visit their website at shastaweddings.com for more information.)
Next is the Mt. Shasta Resort, which has several ceremony and receptions sites for you to choose from. This resort is about half an hour from Lake Shasta. Outdoors you'll have the beautiful mountains surrounding you and if the weather becomes inclement (or you marry in the winter), you have several rooms to use instead. The Highland Room seats up to 60, while the Siskiyou Room has a capacity of 180 people. Outdoors, they can accommodate a crowd of 300 guests with Mt. Shasta as your backdrop. The golf course is part of the resort and there is also a restaurant and lounge, a spa, tennis courts, pro shop, snack bar and you're near rivers for fishing and water sports. They have one and two bedroom chalets with kitchens as well as woodland rooms lodge for you and your guests. (Go to mountshastaresort.com for details.)
A "Best Place to Kiss" was awarded by Fodor's to the next Mt. Shasta wedding venue. It's the McCloud Hotel Bed andBreakfast located in the heart of the historic district of McCloud. They have the capacity to handle smaller weddings only so please contact them for more details. They will cater the wedding for you and you can have them provide your cake or bring in your own. (Check out their website at mccloudhotel.com for more information.)
Next is the McCloud River Lodge, also located in McCloud. You can choose between a daytime reception in their Briar PatchRestaurant, or, an outdoor event in the evening on their patio next to a waterfall and stream. There is a full service restaurant and bar whose staff will cater your wedding. You can have dancing and live music here also. They also have rooms and suites on the premises.
In Dunsmuir there are several sites to consider at the Dunsmuir Park and Botanical Gardens. Indoors, their community hall can handle up to 185 guests and outdoors you can have a ceremony and/or reception in a lovely meadow or in the garden amid colorful azaleas, dogwoods, rhododendrons, Japanese Maples and other plants and trees. There are also picnic areas that can be used for various events. They have several events here every year so contact them as soon as you have some tentative wedding dates. (Visit their website at dunsmuirparks.org for details.)
Of course there are other wedding venues near Mt. Shasta in northern California but these five give you an idea of what is available in the area.
