Speed and Strength- Moment of Truth Mesh Motorcycle Jacket Review

There is not much that is as important as motorcycle maintenance and rider training, than the riders gear. Even the best riders cannot control other drivers or unseen road conditions. Wear the proper gear and stay safe!
This is a review of Speed and Strength's Moment of Truth mesh jacket.

Come summer time, many riders find themselves sitting in traffic with sweat dripping down them. This can cause the rider to become aggravated and choose not to wear the proper gear because it is too uncomfortable in the heat. It is hard to find an all weather jacket to accommodate all seasons. It is best to get two jackets, one for cold days and one for the hotter days.

Speed and Strength offers this jacket in both mesh and non mesh. I recently purchased the mesh version as I was one of those riders where my cold weather jacket was just too unbearable in the heat. This jacket will make those hot summer days very comfortable.

The design is mostly mesh with textile fabric in certain spots to reinforce the jacket and securely hold the armor in place. The mesh is placed in the perfect spots for proper airflow. The chest, arm pits, fore-arms and back are all mesh. The textile sections also help to keep the jacket from wrinkling up and help it stay in the correct position while riding. This jacket lets a great amount of airflow through.

There are a couple adjustments that can be made with this jacket. The arms have a 3 position button strap to help tighten the sleeve and better secure the armor. It is a very sturdy button and strap that looks like it will hold up great over time. The bottom of the jacket has a waist adjuster made of Velcro on each side. These allow you to tighten up the waist for a more custom fit. The ends of the sleeve have dual stage kinetic cuff adjusters as well.

All armor in this jacket is CE approved so you know it will work in the event of a crash. The armor fits very nice and contours the way it should to your body. All armor is removable if you need to remove it for any reason.

On the back of the jacket there is a zipper to attach to riding pants if you so choose. There is also 2 belt loop attachment points so you can lock the jacket onto your belt and stop it from moving while riding.

This jacket is very vestal. It comes with a 100% waterproof removable liner. It will keep the wind off of you on those cooler days, but will not do too much in very cold temperatures. If you get caught in some rain or a cool evening, the liner works great. One thing I do not like is the attachment system for the liner sleeve cuffs. It is simply Velcro. The problem arises when you try to remove or install the liner. Since the jacket is a mesh material, the Velcro on the liner sleeve likes to catch the mesh and can make it difficult to get the sleeve in.

Sizing on this jacket fits very true to size, if not a hair on the larger size. I am 5'11" and about 210 pounds with a 44" chest. The large fits me perfectly. So feel confident in ordering your normal size.

I highly recommend this jacket if you are looking for a light summer jacket with a decent liner at a great price. They can be purchased at various retailers right now for around $150.

Remember...All The Gear, All The Time.

Ride safe!
