Spend Christmas at Walt Disney World Resort

James Kent
Orlando is a beautiful place to visit all year and where better to spend Christmas than in Walt Disney World. During Christmas it will be dry and warm with average day temperatures 72F and night low averages not below 50F. Walt Disney World is a wonderful place to visit and is both the most visited and largest recreational resort in the world. This great holiday destination also features four theme parks, two water parks, a massive twenty three themed hotels with many more no Disney hotels very close and multiple options for shopping; dining entertainment and recreation it really is the place for everyone. Walt Disney World actually lays outside Orlando's city limits the majority of the property is located in southwestern Orange County with the rest in Osceola County. The majority of the resort's land and all the public areas are in the cities of Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista, so Walt Disney World is actually 15 miles southwest of Orlando.

When thinking about somewhere to stay in this great resort it's hard to ignore the twenty three themed hotels. I couldn't possible name them all, so here is a list of the deluxe ones, which are the top dogs with prices ranging from $205-$805:

· Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

· Disney's Beach Club Resort

· Disney's BoardWalk Inn

· Disney's Contemporary Resort

· Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

· Disney's Polynesian Resort

· Disney's Wilderness Lodge

· Disney's Yacht Club Resort

Of course there are also a number of top non Disney hotels in the area from names such as Starwood, Holiday Inn, Best Western and Hilton.

Walt Disney World Resort features four separate theme parks each of them themed in some way and with rides and attractions attached to that theme. The four parks are Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. Within those four parks there should be something for everyone. In addition to those there is also Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Disney's Wedding Pavilion, Disney's BoardWalk, Disney's Wide World Sports Complex, Walt Disney World Speedway and Downtown Disney. In particular Downtown Disney is worth exploring and it contains DisneyQuest, House of Blues, Planet Hollywood, Cirque du Soleil and La Nouba.

Christmas is a big deal to Disney World and they celebrate in style. Epcot Presents Holidays Around the World. This is a chance to get a taste of each country featured in the showcase. The general Idea is to sample different icons of the season. This showcase is available from November 28 to December 30 and is located within the Epcot theme park.

Also based at Epcot is the Candlelight Procession and is led by a mass choir and 50 piece orchestra. Celebrity narrators will retell the Christmas story throughout the Holiday Season. This is also available from November 28 to December 30.

There is entertainment to be enjoyed in Downtown Disney as well where visitors can finish up their Christmas shopping at great stores such as World of Disney and Once Upon a Toy. While they are doing their shopping they can also enjoy the spectacular lights and holiday decor. This runs from November 28 to December 24. Throughout the Holiday Season they will also be speculator shows and eye catching firework displays.
