No matter which historic hotel you choose, you will add vacation memories that you will carry for a lifetime.

The Crescent Hotel and Spa is not the oldest hotel in Eureka Springs but it does have a vast history associated with it. It sits on the highest peak in Eureka Springs at 75 Prospect Ave.

The Crescent Hotel and Spa was built by The Frisco Railroad and the Eureka Springs Improvement Company in 1886. The construction of the Crescent was made from Magnesium limestone that came from a quarry on the White River. A group of specialist from Ireland was called in to do the work on this magnificent structure.

In its early days it was host to gala balls that attracted business and society folks and enjoyed guest speakers such as presidential nominees. The Crescent was considered one of the most luxurious hotels in America.

In its history it has been a cancer hospital and a women's college. In --- it was turned back into a hotel where guest enjoy the Victorian atmosphere of days past.

The Crescent of today still looks much like it did when it was constructed showcasing a unique beauty and all the splendor of that era.

The Grand Central, located in the heart of the downtown historic district, is the oldest hotel in Eureka Springs. It offers an 1880's Victorian atmosphere with its elegant and gracious style blending with the comforts of today. It has been carefully preserved to accommodate this luxurious feel so guests today feel as special as the first guests did in 1883.

The Grand Hall has been completely renovated to expose an old window that views into the famous tunnels of the Eureka Springs underground. The walls of this wonderful room are made of rock and are over 125 years old.

The New Orleans Hotel & Spa built in 1892 is located in historic downtown Eureka Springs. It has been newly renovated while maintaining its charismatic charm. This hotel has stood the test of time through numerous owners and name changes. It was originally known as the Wadsworth Hotel when it was owned by bareback circus rider W.S. Wadsworth.

It is home to the Suchness Spa where you can be treated to massage and pampering.

The Palace Hotel houses a full service, fully operational, historic bath house on its lower level. There you can receive mineral baths, eucalyptus steam therapy and massage therapy. Once acclaimed as "the best bath house in the state" it is still operated in much the same manner as it was 100 years ago.

All rooms are non-smoking and decorated with antiques with an intimate and relaxed atmosphere. The Palace has an old world charm that is unmatched in hotels of this small size. Only eight suites are available but you are assured to leave there feeling peaceful and pampered.

The Palace is also located on historic Spring Street close to downtown.

The 1905 Basin Park Hotel is located where the town of Eureka Springs began. This is the heart of what makes Eureka Springs.

The Basin Park has a truly distinctive history with stories of gambling and extended stays for special guests from Chicago including Al Capone's sister. There was also a raid on the hotel during the prohibition era because of alcohol being served to the guests. The Basin Park is also unique in the fact that every floor of the hotel is at ground level which caught the attention of Ripley's Believe It or Not. Being built into the mountain you can exit from any floor and be on solid ground.

You can overlook the streets of Eureka Springs while dining in the Balcony Restaurant.

Eureka Springs is a town steeped with a rich history. Many of these hotels are listed with national historic registries. Step back in time by staying at one of these nostalgic hot spots.
