I tried to be nice but could be hard headed, so when they got to sore I made up my mind I wasn't taking another shot. Two nurses came into my room one morning to give me my shots. One of the nurses was really young, so I guess she must have only been a student nurse. Anyway, I wouldn't take the shot for either one of them.
They couldn't believe it, and finally told me they would go get sister because I had always taken it for her before. St. Vincent is a Catholic hospital. I told them I wasn't taking it for her either. That monster of a woman that was usually nice came in, and two of them ended up holding me down while the third one gave me that blasted shot anyway. I sure didn't take that shot though, they gave it to me anyway. Actually, they forced it on me and all the others that I had to take until I got out of the hospital a few days later.

Post a CommentVery well written story!
Hospitals are so much fun.
;-);-)
Amazing how our childhood memories just pop up for no reason sometimes!
You're sure right about them being no fun Emylou. Still, I don't mind them nearly as much now as I did back then. Thanks for commenting. Johnny
Hi Janet, I can understand a young person thinking that. I didn't believe in ghosts or I might have thought the same thing especially after that one began holding me down to give me shots. Thanks for commenting. I was born so long ago that they didn't send us out to be born I was born at home, so I could be close to my mother--or maybe I was just scared of going through some new experience by myself and wanted to be close to her. Johnny
Greenhill I think you're right--that should have been a big waraing of how the marriage might go. Thanks for commenting. Johnny
Tiadora that might have been one shot that I would have enjoyed. Well not the shot, but the side show. I still don't look forward to them, but they don't really bother me. Thanks for the comment. I bet that really was a sight. Johnny
Yeah John they don't bother me now, but when I was six years old they sure did. They really did after giving several every day and for a few weeks. I thought it was time for them to stop. Thanks for commenting so often. I must get back by your pages. Johnny Yuma
Shots are not fun at all.
