When you first open spendly you get the chance to set a starting balance. I started mine off at how much money I had in my wallet: £35. Spendly is so incredibly useful because it is so simple. Instead of over complicating things with multiple accounts, account types and overdrafts. For some people this isn't the best option because of it's simplicity but as a freelancer it's perfect for managing your balance.
Spendly makes it really easy to add income or expenses as well. It's interface allows you to insert transactions with simple descriptions and updates a total at the bottom right of the screen which turns red or green depending on whether you have money or not.
As an app you might think something along he lines of "I've not got the time to record transactions every time I buy something." but that's really not the case. It's so easy to do that you don't even realise your doing it (especially if your apt with an iPhone).
This app has everything a freelancer might need in an account managing app. It's probably not the best app for people who want to manage multiple accounts or need more advanced reports.
Overall 10/10 for simplicity but only 5/10 for features since it lacks some of the more advanced reporting other apps contain.
