Simon Fuller is at it again! The man who managed the Spice Girl's through the peak of their success in the late 90s is now talking about a combined reunion/final tour for the girls. The tour, slated for 2012, is reported to include a stop at the opening ceremony for the Olympics in London.

The Mirror quoted Simon Fuller as saying, "They stand for so much in British music history and I can't think of a better time for them to get back together for another performance, the demand for them as a band is as strong as ever."

He also went on to say that this performance would be the perfect time for the girls to retire their Spice personalities. While they have enjoyed much success as a group over the last one and a half decades, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Victoria Beckham do not want to be performing "Wannabe" or any of their other hits into their 40s. This is understandable considering they were in their late teens to early 20s when they first began.

The Spice Girls embarked on a five country tour during 2007 and 2008. The countries included the United States, Germany, Canada, England and Spain. It was the first time the girls had toured since 1999 and tickets sold out within seconds of becoming available at some venues.

Unfortunately this tour was marked with much controversy. The girls were supposed to perform a world tour, but near the end of the tour they cancelled dates in Australia, South America, Africa and Asia. They dispelled rumors that Mel B. and Mel C. had left the band, but ended up giving no good reason for the cancellation of the dates. This decision caused much unrest and many people spoke out against the girls, accusing them of withholding information about the tour to the fans.

To add even more disappointment for the fans, a DVD was not released of the concert footage even though it had been recorded. The footage that was recorded was poor quality and they felt it was not good enough to be distributed.

The last tour left a lot of dissatisfaction among Spice Girl fans so another reunion tour coinciding with the 2012 Olympics would be the perfect outlet for the girls to go out on top. Ginger, Scary, Sporty, Baby and Posh Spice are musical icons and should not be remembered for a bad final tour, but for the way they have influenced current and future girl bands.
