Spice Up Your Hair with Sunsilk Color Boost

Hillary Marshall
Women all over the world dye their hair for various reasons. Whether they are trying to get rid of gray, trying to spruce up a dull color or they just like to experiment, most women who dye their hair, do it frequently. However frequent use of hair dye can be problematic. Not only can it damage the hair, but it can also lead to hair loss over time. With new and less invasive coloring products appearing on the market, women now have many options to keep their color looking fresh without have to touch up their dye on a regular basis.

Color Boost by Sunsilk just burst on to the hair coloring scene. With it's flashy and funny commercials, Color Boost got my attention right away. Having dyed my hair for years, I was intrigued by the idea of Sunsilk, which advertises that it will give your color a boost without using permanent dye. Color Boost uses gentle colorants to amp up your color a bit after your dye has begun to fade. The process of using this product is very simple. You wash your hair normally, squeeze hair of excess water, apply to your hair, let the color stand for no more than five minutes and then rinse it out. Color Boost is by no standards a permanent dye. Typically it rinses out after a few washes. However, because it is so gentle it can be repeated up to three times per week. Color Boost is not hue specific, it offers two varieties for brunettes and two for blondes. The only variant in the two separate color formulas is that one is aimed at boosting highlights in either blonde or brunette hair colors and the other adds depth to brunette shades and brightens the blonde shades.

Over all, I really was satisfied with the results I achieved while using this product. I chose the Beyond Brunette for brunette colorers with auburn tones and it really did spice up my red tones. In fact, my boyfriend actually noticed that I did something different, which is rare. The only draw back to this product, is that it really does only last about three to four washes so it isn't really practical for regular use. However having said that, it would be great for sprucing your hair up here and there in between colorings, if you needed a quick fix for dull hair or if you needed to do something with your hair for a special occasion.
