Spice Up the Holidays in San Antonio

Lori Piper
If you are fortunate enough to reside in or near San Antonio, Texas, here are a few way to spice up your holiday season.

Visit the Riverwalk. San Antonio's Riverwalk is perfect for families, as well as couples seeking romantic stroll. It is perfect place for friends to gather and catch up as well. The background is picture perfect... so many of us who live here only remember the Riverwalk at the time of the year... but it is worth remembering all year round. In addition, the Riverwalk offers a chance to hear some of the best caroling. Ford Holiday Boat Caroling takes place nightly from 6:15- 8:15 through December 20th. Over 185 bell choirs and carolers are there to entertain. Before you know, your entire family will be singing right along... as does the majority of the crowds gathered there.

Visit Schlitterbahn Waterpark for a true holiday experience. Only in Texas can you enjoy such lights without freezing chills. They have snow machines, and ice skating rinks. Live entertainment is provided as well. It is called a Hill Country Christmas and it is very adequately named. People of all ages can enjoy. Fiesta Texas and Sea World also offer up holiday themed park events. Start a new tradition this year... have your Christmas party at Fiesta Texas. They offer catering and party planning services. All you have to do is show up with your family. Fun can be had by all. Sea World offers a Polar Express experience in 4D! As well as breakfast with Sesame Street. Who wouldn't enjoy eating breakfast with Cookie Monster?

What arrives in the mail every year at this time? Holiday photographs. Some people go to a professional for their holiday picture. Some people just go right out in their own back yard. How about a Christmas family portrait taken at the historic Alamo! The Alamo is decorated with festive wreaths and a giant Christmas tree. And the Alamo is always a fun pace to visit... whether you are eight or eighty. The history in the atmosphere of the Alamo remains the same and touches you.

The Texas Transportation Museum offers Santa's Railroad Wonderland. Night time train and hay rides are offered. Your faces will light up as you witness the joy and exaltation expressed on your children's faces. Choo- Choo Claus is there to lend a hand as well.

The best thing about San Antonio... it is fun for all ages. Anyone can enjoy the Riverwalk... it is not just for adults or just for families.
