Since time in memorials, beads have been a favorite of many. In earlier days they were used in their primary form of seeds, shells, stones and berries. Afterwards beads were produced from glass, crystals, metals and clay and of late from plastics and acrylics. There is nothing as rewarding to most people as selecting beads and merging the beads to come up with an exquisite piece of work. For some it's a hobby while for others its their source of livelihood. It's a craft popular with many regardless of age. It provides an opportunity to express their creativity and aids in enhancing their lives. A few people believe that beads can turn out into an obsession or simply be addictive. Even so, it is satisfying to create gorgeous masterpieces as gifts for friends, for yourself or for your home from simple beads.
The versatility of beadwork is the beauty behind beadwork. Available in the market is a wide variety of beads to select from. You have the choice over the color, shape, size, texture and type of beads to use in making the pattern of your choice. Moreover a large spectrum of beading techniques exist and this include threading, embroidering, sticking, weaving and wiring. The method to use is up to you to decide. Beading techniques can be classified as either unthreaded or threaded. The unthreaded techniques are limited in number and include methods such as using tile gout or glue. However the threaded techniques are unlimited. You will derive enormous satisfaction since the outcome of your project is the direct result of your creativity, skill and own selection.
Beading is a craft considered economical since it does require a special workshop. All that is needed is to create exciting pieces is good lighting, a table, selected beads and beading equipment.
Step-by-step beading instructions are easily available and enable a beginner to learn basics of beading projects. After acquiring the basic techniques you can create more interesting pieces on your own. There are endless possibilities of creating new designs. After creating a design test it and if does not work take it apart and attempt a new design. There is nothing as fun and enjoyable as beading. Be daring, experiment new ideas and you will realize beading has never been more fun.
