When looking for a spider vein cream that will live up to its promises one should research the product before purchasing it. This means that a person should visit their doctor or dermatologist and ask for their opinion. Many spider vein creams on the market use vitamin K which has long been used on the scars of those who have had surgery. Vitamin K is supposed to reduce swelling and redness associated with scar tissue. Vitamin K has also been proved to reduce redness associated with spider veins. Though it may take a month or more to see results, people have reported fewer veins.
A spider vein cream will only work on surface veins. It is not effective on varicose veins which can be very painful and will have to be removed sometimes to avoid blood clots. Spider veins are may be unattractive, but they are not harmful to those who have them. Spider vein creams may work over time, but laser surgery is the only way to remove the vein completely. These days, there are a few surgeries that are more patient friendly and do not leave as much scarring afterward.
The key ingredient in any spider vein cream should be a vitamin such as vitamin K that can be found naturally in nature or in the body. If a cream includes too many synthetic ingredients, then it probably will not work. A dermatologist will be able prescribe or suggest a cream that may work. Spider vein creams have worked for some and not for others. The good news is that most of these creams are not that expensive, which means it is worth investigating and trying a few different ones. There may be a cream out there that will help reduce the appearance of spider veins and help a person feel good about themselves again.
