Spiderman 3 Review

Spiderman 3 immediately takes place from where the second Spiderman movie ends. I'd say a good portion of the film like the first fifteen minutes to be exact breezes through everyone's story including the three villains of the movie Venom, the Green Goblin and finally the Sandman. Spiderman is officially a beloved hero in New York because of his constant heroics, while on the other Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst) is simply basting in her acting roles and loving every bit of it. James Franco's character Harry Osborn is still very much furious over the mourning of his father's death, he's looking to avenge his father's death by killing Spiderman and Peter Parker because according to him it's his former best friend that murdered his one and only father.

As the story line progresses we come to learn that the villain Sandman, Flint Marko (played by Thomas Haden Church) is a former jailbird that recently escaped from prison, he's also a father of a little girl that's extremely sick and is trying his best to aid her into recovering. Sandman's also the burglar that murders Peter Parker's uncle, Uncle Ben. Venom's played by Topher Grace his real name however is Eddie Brock, he has so much hate built up towards Peter Parker that he tries everything in his power to ruin his life like trying to steal his job away from him. Harry Osborn the Green Goblin villain suffers a memory lapse when he first fights Spiderman, which happens at the beginning of the movie and never really recovers from it.

Although the Spiderman 3 movie does sort of rush through some of the major sub-plots, it's done in a reasonably decent way and does in fact run through smoothly. The Sandman's character was perfected in the way his emotions didn't really make him appear or feel as if he was ever a bad guy after all. However on the other hand Venom is purely sadistic and malicious and really he's the core element for most of the movie. When the venom or black suit over takes Peter Parker's body, it's quite funny because we see a whole new side of him in the way he acts cool or evil, Tobey Maguire does it quite well, it really made a decent impression on me in such scenes.

Topher Grace did play his Venom character quite well, there were many problems in the movie when he was given the role because of his non-muscular body as opposed to the one portrayed in the comics were way off, but he makes up for it. Some of the lines he's given in the movie as the reporter were a little cheesy in which he tries to be a little funny when in fact they were just dull and idiotic. When the black Venom suit overtakes Eddie Brock's body, it was very similar to that of the Spiderman cartoon but it does look neat and fit's the nuances of the film. The way the Sandman's portrayed in this movie is unbelievable, he really looked like the comic book character with only a couple minor tweaks. I also liked how some of the comedic moments in the movie were nicely said and done, and how characters like Jameson just makes you laugh, I find his very first scene of the movie just hilarious. The acting is pretty good as well and how they didn't try to overdue the action in this movie. The Spiderman 3 movie doesn't have many action sequences, they also didn't make this all about the fighting but based it on telling the story and to that sense it was great.

In this movie there's more dramatic moments that almost made me shed a tear and the funny thing is that it's a superhero movie. They bring out the events that occurred on how Uncle Ben's murdered, which I thought was a big relief because we never really found out how he died and in this one we do. We get to see a little more of Peter and Mary Jane Watson's relationship in how their love for each other goes through some turmoil like one big rollercoaster ride with all of the twists and turns along the way, makes for a great movie. A little more of the inside friendship that was Harry Osborn and Peter Parker and how the Sandman's story gets tied in it all. It's a great movie in every way possible from the acting all the way to the cast and crew that played their characters. I truly appreciate the individuals that have taken time out of their day to read this review I am certainly thankful for that.

Every scream that Kirsten Dunst did for this movie were recorded from the previous Spiderman 2 movie, she never screamed in the Spiderman 3 movie.
