Spiderman, Captain America, Green Hornet, Tarzan Collectibles

If The Amazing Spiderman is your favorite character and you collect his items, keep your eyes open for merchandise made before 1990.

Spidey came into existence in 1962 by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee. The first comics go for tens of thousands of dollars. Most vintage Spiderman items range from $500-$1,000.

A Spiderman original code breaker is worth close to $1,000. The Milton-Bradley Spiderman Game new and unused is valued at over $400 and his Buddy L vehicle set can go for $500.

After Spiderman movies came out more and more merchandise became available. Some items in the 1980s such as store displays are very valuable. If you love Spiderman keep any item featuring the character, Action figures, pins, puzzles, sweatshirts, wristwatches and decoders all will rise in value regardless of their age.

Captain America

Captain America became popular during World War II in the 1940s, but gained in popularity right through the 1960s.

Items from this character are difficult to find. Anything, other than comics, is of very high value. There are not a lot of items out there, but if you find one hold on to it tightly.

One of the most valuable is the Official Membership Cards that can be worth from $1000-$3,000. A copper shield (1940s) goes for around $3,000 and a brass sentinels of liberty shield is around $2,000. Perhaps, top of the line is a Captain America Serial Valiance which can be worth as much as $5,000.

Be careful of fakes. Due to the lack of products available, people will make fake ones. Never spend a lot of money on an item unless you can be sure of its originality.

Green Hornet

Those that have vintage 1930-40s items of The Green Hornet have something of great value. Almost any original item is worth at least $100. So keep your eyes open in your basement, attic or local tag sale.

The Green Hornet Secret Seal Ring with papers in box is valued at over $3,000. Condition is everything and goes down from if not mint, but is still worth snagging if you can. Any comics that have cover art with "green skulls" is very collectible and worth about $1,000 in excellent condition.

Vintage lobby cards of Britt and Kato can be worth up to $400. A 1930s glass from GJM set is in the hundreds of dollars range.

A Corgi Green Hornet Black Beauty car in box is worth over $1,500. A Green Hornet vintage Halloween costume goes for over $1,500.

As you can see values for these items are up there and rising everyday.

Tarzan

It was 1912 when Tarzan first came into existence. He was very popular for a long time, but has lost some of his appeal recently.

It does not mean you should not look out for and collect Tarzan items. There were many people who played the character and depending on which one the item features, the values are different.

Golden Age books feature great art, but ones that were commercially done were not done well and people are not interested in those.

Look for items featuring Johnny Weissmuller or Lincoln and Merrill posters. These can go from $2,000 to $20,000.

The older stuff you will find is signage and posters, but you may get lucky and find a pocket knife or statue. Puzzles, cereal boxes and anything else from around 1930s is considered rare and is worth holding on to.

Not a lot of Tarzan items are presently being made so the chance for facsimiles is rare, but not impossible.

If Tarzan is your hero don't toss away any memorabilia. Even if its value is not high right now, it could change in a few years. Just keep collecting!
