Spiderman Review

Spiderman is a story about a young 18-year-old, Peter Parker (played perfectly by Tobey Maguire), a nerdy, but highly intelligent high school student who's on the verge of graduating along with his only friends Harry Osborn (played by James Franco) and Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst). What get's quite interesting is that Peter Parker has an undying love for his best friend Mary Jane that never dies and his best friend Harry Osborn also shares those same feelings as well for Mary Jane. T's just one big love triangle since both of the guy friends love the same woman it makes for great entertainment. Harry Osborn's secretly jealous of Peter Parker in a sense that his rich father Norman (the remarkable Willem Dafoe) genuinely has more respect for him than himself. Reason for such, Peter had to work hard for everything in order to support himself, while on the other hand Harry has everything catered to him, so there's a little tension between the two guys. Peter resides with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May.

Norman Harry Osborn's dad leads a company called Oscorp, which is mainly concerned with the R and D division. He is given an assignment by the military to create a special suit specifically for human enhancement, but when their bid loses to another company to build that suit, he sabotages his appearance by wearing the suit he created specifically for the military, he demolishes the rival companies' lab and also murders the guy in charge. Now that Oscorp has suddenly regained what they had lost previously, the other company after recovering from their losses has more than enough money to officially pay off Oscorp, Norman's entire board agrees with the buyout, this sets Norman furiously. He gets his revenge by causing havoc on all of New York City as his new alter ago The Green Goblin.

However, Peter Parker goes on a field trip and something unusual happens a radioactive spider unexpectedly bites him, at this point is life changes drastically. He has inherited some extraordinary abilities that resemble spider like capabilities such as web shooting, spider web building, and superior strength. At the beginning he uses it to his advantage like trying to impress Mary Jane and his high school classmates. He even goes to extreme measures like fighting in a wrestling match so that I can make enough money in order to purchase a car to impress Mary Jane. Dressed in the spider outfit that he specifically designed, he wins unexpectedly. The guy that set up the whole event won't pay Peter the earnings he owes him, so what do Peter, he doesn't stop the thief from snatching away all of the money from the event organizer's safe. Peter soon realizes that same thief is the one that murders his Uncle Ben, so Peter tracks him down and by mistake kills the thief. In the following months, Peter's guilty conscience and agony come to play and so than he looks to eliminate corruption and crime from occurring under the name Spiderman. Well I won't go into anymore detail as to what happens in the story, I simply don't want to ruin it for those that haven't seen it but it's for sure a great ending.

Spiderman is a wonderful movie in every aspect of the film. Although I never actually read the comic book series Spiderman, it didn't mean I wasn't interested because I was, being a little bit of a tomboy growing up and loving superhero comics my parents had me refrained from reading any of the Spiderman comics, I don't really know why but Spiderman always appealed to me most out of all the other superheroes and that's why he's my favorite one. All of the acting was relatively decent and I genuinely got a good feel of the way the actors played their characters. Tobey Maguire played a phenomenal Peter Parker and Spiderman, James Franco as the envious best friend of Peter Parker, and that Kirsten Dunst did an okay job as the beautiful red-headed Mary Jane. The father and son relationship between Norman and his son Harry were in fact very believable.

The story is great it had a lot of dramatic moments when you simply witness all of the emotion that Peter displays throughout the entire movie. You see how a geeky, feeble teenager transforms into a strong superhero, it's not about some teenager that's bitten by a spider and is suddenly a superhero, it's a lot deeper than that. All of the action scenes were breath taking but they were sometimes to happening too quick or they were too short. But it certainly contributed to how great this movie really is and only adds to it. I loved this movie overall it had a lot of defining moments which made this movie very entertaining to watch. I can watch this movie repeatedly matter of fact I watched it just last night and I'm not joshing either. Spiderman is a great character and superhero and does make this movie an enjoyable experience. I truly appreciate the individuals that have taken time out of their day to read this review I am certainly thankful for that.

Tobey Maguire has never officially read a Spider-Man comic book but accepted the role because as Spiderman only because he loved the script.
