Spider's Guide to Spiritual Cleansing

Spiritual Cleansing was Practiced by All the Ancient Peoples of This Planet

Spider Lady
Maybe because the Spider has so many eyes, I see things each day that are disturbing. Since, I do not have the time and energy to solve all the worlds problems, I often go home an pray. One day in while in CVS there where two girls in front of me in line. They purchased large amounts B-12, Mannitol and Baking Soda... The gal behind the counter obviously didn't connect the dots. The two young ladies paid with their purchases from with large bills from their large wads of bills. I thought about taking some civic action, but the thought of dealing with the pleasant local officers, the knowledges of lost wages and trips to court I have to admit to taking the coward way out; I was too drained from the negativity of my day. Secondly, I want to live. I hope to wake up breathing the next day, not capped in the back of the head by the drug dealers on the street.

So, I decided I needed a spiritual cleansing... I have had many people who look at me strangely and make comments clike "you really believe all this." Yes, I do believe in power of nature and the power of ritual... Some people like to start t he process with a fast. Spider Lady likes to start all rituals with cup of tea. This day I choose Red Rooibos. It is important to choose a tea tea for the healing proprieties. I choose The Rooibos because of the sweet flavor and it's reputation for being an antioxidant and stress reducer.

Then I light some candles. I choose a green that has healing sage for rejuvenation. A purple that has lavender and the power to connect the spiritual world, And I choose a red for energy, health and magnetism. I light the candles and was the flames dance.

Next I smudge. This day I choose sage. It relieves the congestion and I can start to breathe. Whether burned from a bush, in a candle or made into a tea, sage increases you sense of well being as it allow you more oxygen in your lungs. It's is Spider Lady's' was of bringing the earth indoors. The musky smell puts me at ease as it chases the smell of the local coal plant out of my abode.

I put on Life in Balance: Light. This soothing strain a shakuhachi and crystal bowls mixed with chimes intergrates the energy of the chakras. I listen as the flute wails in it's longing to return to it's source. Ahhhh, we all want to return to our source.

I bring my candles into the path as I d fill my tub with scalding walder and Lavender Baththerrapy. I disrobe and sink into the lithium salts that will relax my muscles. As the lavender relaxes me I visualize I am floating ont he great Salt Lake. The music shifts and I heard the angelic voice of Lila Flood from The Ocean Refuses No River cd. I get out of the bath and towel off with warm linens from the dryer and don a long white caftan.

I settle by sitz bones into my zafu and hear Rumi's word's repeat: "Be meleting snow, wash you rself of yourself.... " I sing along and this become my prayer for the evening. I then quietly I wait for my source....
