Ariel
Sofia Vassilieva can certainly hold her own, so now that Ariel Dubois is in college--and Medium won't be back for an eighth season--she's the perfect choice for a spin-off series. Imagine Ariel at Dartmouth, struggling to keep it all together while taking classes, getting acclimated to her new surroundings, making new friends, thinking about pledging a sorority--and communicating with the dead.
Jon Lindstrom (You Can't Have It All, As the World Turns) would be perfectly cast as Ariel's professor and mentor, with Rebecca Staab (Port Charles, Dark Shadows) as his wife--who also happens to be the district attorney. Forbes March (One Life to Live, Mutant X) should also play a professor. Thorsten Kaye (All My Children, Occupant) would be a good choice to portray a police detective; he's a terrific actor and stuntman. Patrick Salvagna (Chicago) should be Ariel's love interest. Ariel also needs a roommate, friends, enemies, and classmates; Kelsey Chow (One Tree Hill), Mackenzie Rosman (7th Heaven), Carly Schroeder (Mean Creek, Port Charles), and Charlie Stewart (Life With Bonnie) help round out the cast. Guest appearances by Ariel's family members would be welcome.
Beckman
Several Chuck characters have great spin-off potential, but none greater than General Diane Beckman. Fans want to know her story. Portrayed flawlessly by Bonita Friedericy, General Beckman is interesting, intriguing, amusing, stern, and at times downright hilarious.
In addition to occasional guest appearances from Chuck's Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, and Adam Baldwin, this show will need regular cast members. For this spin-off, the dream cast includes Daniel Kennedy (All My Children) and Ambyr Childers (Playback, All My Children) as young recruits. Beth Grant (Jericho, Donnie Darko) should play General Beckman's overbearing older sister, with Ronald Guttman (Heroes, All My Children) as Grant's enigmatic husband. John de Lancie (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Days of Our Lives) would be a welcome addition to the cast, whether as a goofy good guy, a smarmy villain, or something else.
Castiel
Misha Collins is a fan favorite as the angel Castiel and his human vessel. Is there even one Supernatural fan who wouldn't watch a spin-off featuring the socially inept angel? Doubtful. In fact, his "minions" would probably watch even if he were the only character, but let's cast this show anyway.
First off, we would need guest appearances from Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester; scenes between Dean and Castiel are always truly inspired. Jared Padalecki and Jim Beaver should also show up from time to time as Sam and Bobby, respectively. As for regular and recurring cast members, Ray Wise (Reaper, Twin Peaks), Charles Keating (Port Charles, Another World), and Alexis Denisof (Dollhouse, Angel) would fit in very well and be wonderful additions. This show would deal with heaven, hell, and warring factions; Castiel, always in his trench coat, would fight the good fight.
No one really expects the networks to develop these spin-off ideas for Chuck, Medium, and Supernatural. Even so, it's fun to think about the possibilities.
