Review of Judd Starr's Sophomore Album
Judd's vocals are superb and the lyrics are more complex than the typical dribble that floods the radio now and the songs are catchy and make you want to dance. When I can listen to a CD and enjoy each and every track on the CD then I know that I have truly discovered a gifted artist.
I can't choose one song that is my favorite. I have five favorites. The title track Spirit and Skin, What if I'm Fine, comes close to being my favorite, The Other Side of my Voice, Give Me Something More and Wide Awake and Dreaming. I love listening to the entire album but those five are ones I keep going back to.
The meaning of the lyrics in the songs on "Spirit and Skin" are clear and while you are enjoying the songs Judd also makes you think about things going in the life of everyone in the world today. If you do not know who Judd Starr is you need to check him out today. Judd is a one man recording team all by himself. What you hear on the album from the lyrics, the voice, to the instruments, was all created and recorded by Judd. Judd has said before that he prefers to do it on his own. He gets the product the way he wants it by doing it himself. You won't hear a complaint from me or any of Judd's supporters about this choice. Why spoil something that works so perfectly.
