In addition to having this direct command over Elemental Spirits, Spiritmasters can also heal or strengthen their pets and interfere with enemies' mobility like their counterpart Sorcerers can do. But unlike Sorcerers, Spiritmasters don't use spells to command natural elements. Instead, they can directly speak to and invoke the Spirits of those elements. This makes it so that theSpiritmaster does not possess the Attack power of the Sorcerer. Rather, she relies on the faithfulness of the Elemental Spirits to her for them to do their own attacking on her behalf. This means that you have to have considerable knowledge of the differences that exist between the Spirits as you play this character, for the wrong Elemental against the wrong enemy or type of defense can be disastrous for you.
Spiritmasters also have great debuff powers over enemies, but these cause great enmity. This is important because Spiritmasters don't have any significant armor and they have low levels of health and physical prowess; so they have to be in complete control of a fight at all times or they are easy prey. Enemies who have had their enmity raised will come after her with a vengeance.
Nevertheless, Spiritmasters excel at solo fighting because they really aren't fighting and they really aren't alone--they have four different Elemental Spirits who are doing their bidding for them. They also have the power to buff up or heal a weakened Spirit. So aSpiritmaster who knows how to keep her distance and choose her fights wisely will be a very formidable foe despite her own personal weakness and defenselessness.
Spiritmasters are highly valuable to groups of allies because can deal so much damage via the Spirits and at once they can protect the group through the right Elemental Spirits, too. But perhaps even more important is their ability to weaken enemies and hinder their movement, making them highly vulnerable to attack while lowering their own defensive strength. Enemies' buffs can even be removed through her summoning of the power of Disenchantment Blaze or Dispel Magic.
If you are somebody who loves to walk the line between or combine magic with science, the character of Spiritmaster in Aion may be perfect for you.
