Spiritual Stories as Ice Breakers

Chris Cade
There is so much value and spiritual growth to be had when writing a spiritual story, but that is only half of their worth. Once you have the story in writing, you will usually (not always granted) want to share it with someone else. There are traditional means in which to share your story such as putting it up on the Internet or submitting it to print publications, but you can gain so much by simply sharing it casually with family and friends.

Often we spend time with those we love and never really learn a thing about them. As you grow spiritually, you learn the insignificance of many earthly ideas and the importance of matters of the spirit. This is a discovery you must not keep hidden. You can grow further and help those around you on their own personal path by instigating spiritually charged conversations. Sharing your writing with people close to you can be a great way to break the ice and get everyone talking about important spiritual ideas. By offering your story up for discussion, you will give everyone a safe place to express their own spiritual philosophies. Even after the open discussion, you may have provided a catalyst for their own personal spiritual growth. Your courage of sharing can be contagious! You may find those around you asking how they too can express themselves through spiritual writing.

Sharing your spiritual writing with loved ones can also be an easy way to let them know how you truly feel. You may find it difficult to comfortably fit in a conversation where you can talk about personal spiritual beliefs, but by opening the dialogue with "I'd like to read you something I wrote," you clear a path to get your important thoughts out. Others may have something they too have wanted to share but were afraid to do so because it seemed awkward. By opening your own spiritual self up to them, you are in essence giving them permission to do the same.
