Indoor water parks seem to be popping up everywhere. These Parks are a great option in the off season or if your summer vacation forecast is rain. Splash Lagoon, in Erie, Pa, has a lot to offer and many accomidations to make your visit worth it.

First, lets go over the Pros of Splash Lagoon. The park offers large water slides, an area for small children, a family pool/hottub, an adult hot tub, a lazy river, and a 'game' pool. The large slides are great. You can go with one or two people on a raft. I believe there are around 7 big slides so every type is availabe. The area for small children is awesome. It has two small slides that they can down themselves or an adult can go too. Entry to the water is graduated so they can just walk in without worrying about steps. There are also a variety of sprinklers and some have handle so the kids can turn them on and off. The family pool is a nice place to relax with the kids. There is a bench around the entire perimeter so you can sit in the water. It is warm in there but not too warm for the little ones. The 'game' pool offers a rope to walk across and basketball hoops. The adult hot tub is great to relax in. Or you can go on the lazy river to take a break.
The park also offers a food court. Bathrooms with lockers and changing rooms. Outside of the pool area there is an arcade, laser tag, and a couple restaurants. There are hotels that are attached to the park so where ever you stay you don't have to go outside to get to the park.

Now, the Cons. Obviously price. It costs about as much as any amusement park which I think they all cost too much. If you are staying over night, they do offer some nice packages to ease the price. The bathrooms could be cleaner; especially the ones located by the kiddie pool. The bench in the family area is made of cement or some hard material. When I was walking beside it while my little one walked on it, I hit my shin and scraped it. The lines can be long so best to go during the week. That's about it.

The Pros definetly out weigh the Cons. Your kids will love this place. The accomidations are nice. It is near Presque Isle, restaurants, the casino. Splash Lagoon is a big hit with our family.
