After writing earlier letters -
he knew.
He knew he could - would -
not stop.
Were she willing he would tell
the world, tell her, the other
pieces of his heart.
Willingly would Bones
pour his life onto the ground
at her feet, and having emptied
the vessel of his being
offer to become a place
for her to place
herself when a place
was wanted - needed.
He knows the words written
these months past are nothing
more than splinters; splintered
words of light, of shadow,
of being he would weave
still for her - her alone.
But nothing is forever.
Nothing - nothing
but The Fading Man's vow,
dust,
and Splinters.
