Nickelodeon, the children's cable television channel, has unveiled an underwater secret. SpongeBob SquarePants is engaged to be married. His beloved betrothed is none other than Sandy the Squirrel.

Truth or Square, a one-hour Nickelodeon animated movie special, will air on November 6th at 8:00 p.m. (EDT). The program is expected to include the much-anticipated matrimonials of SpongeBob SquarePants and his Southern belle bride, Sandy the Squirrel. The movie includes voice talents of many popular actors, including Rosario Dawson, Craig Ferguson, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, LeBron James, Pink and Robin Williams.

According to Nickelodeon, the story will include several flashbacks from SpongeBob SquarePants' animated life, revealed while the spongy star and his friends are trapped in the Krusty Krab's freezer during the establishment's own birthday celebration.

Could the SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy the Squirrel wedding be a flashback? Or will they be married live during the Truth or Square movie?

SpongeBob SquarePants' Wedding Apparel to Be Selected

Sandy the Squirrel plans to wear a simple, but elegant white tiered gown with puffed sleeves. SpongeBob SquarePants fans may hope that the bride's white apparel indicates her premarital purity. The southern squirrel will add a lacy veil to her trademark glass globe and carry a pink posey of flowers.

According to a film clip, released in advance by Nickelodeon, the yellow sponge groom will don a tailored tuxedo over his famous square pants. Spongebob SquarePants even replaces his signature necktie with a spiffy red bow tie and a pink boutonniere to match his bride's bouquet. Obviously nothing is too good for his blushing bride, Sandy the Squirrel.

SpongeBob SquarePants' Wedding Party to Be Announced

Patrick the Starfish was apparently tickled pink to be chosen as SpongeBob SquarePants' best man. Squidward refused an interview.

Mrs. Puff has been tapped to play the organ for the traditional wedding march during the wedding ceremony for SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy the Squirrel.

SpongeBob SquarePants' Wedding Reception Refreshments Uncovered

Krabby Patties will definitely top the menu for the celebration, perhaps catered by Spongebob SquarePants' sometime employer, Mr. Krab's underwater restaurant, the Krusty Krab.

Without a doubt, the refreshments for Spongebob SquarePants' wedding reception will include some sort of bubbly. After all, such an offering would suit both the bride's personality and the underwater locale, if not the groom's own temperament.

Can the Inter-Species Relationship Last?

Time will only tell whether the SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy the Squirrel relationship may endure. The couple's honeymoon plans have not been revealed. Can a sponge and a squirrel make a happy home in a pineapple under the sea?

Will the union produce offspring? What would the children of SpongeBob SquarePants and Sandy the Squirrel look like? Would they be absorbent and yellow and porous or grey and fluffy?

SpongeBob SquarePants fans will have to wait and see. After all, it's nautical nonsense.
