Spooktacular Halloween Trails in Spartanburg/Greenville Co., S.C

One of the most fun parts of Halloween is to visit Haunted Houses and Trails in your neck of the woods, no pun intended. This year will be no different. Tons of teens, tweens, adults and the like will pile into their cars to seek out the area's scariest haunts. After all, what good is Halloween without a few blood curdling screams and being chased by a crazed killer with a chain saw? Not me, I opt for staying home and giving out goodies to the cute little tykes who aren't too scary.

But for those more brave souls, I've put together a list of the best haunted places to visit in Spartanburg and the surrounding areas in South Carolina. I will list as many details about each place and may post an update in a follow up article as new haunts are advertised in the area.

Nightmare Hollow - Haunted Trail - Spartanburg, SC Home

Location: 3411 Reidville Road, Spartanburg, S.C. 29301. This is a 35 minute walk which is sure to induce multiple screams and sheer horror. Being near the Tyger River, no one will hear you scream if you lose your way. So be very careful as you walk this haunted trail. It's full of surprises. No high heels!

Dates and times of operation: Oct 5, 6, 12, 13, 19-31 (from Dusk until......on Fridays/Saturdays)

(From Dusk until 10:30 weekdays M-Thurs, Sunday)

$ 8 groups of 12 or more

$ 5 ages 5-10

"Wompus Woods" Haunted Trail...Where the Woods Come Alive!-330 Parris Road, Cowpens, SC 29330. This is the 10^th year for this Spooktacular adventure. You can walk this trail or take a Hayride!

Tickets:

$12 individuals 11 and up

$20 for couples

$10 each for families of four

$10 each for groups of 12 or more

$6 for kids 6 and under

Greenville Ghost Tour-explores the details of haunted places in Greenville, South Carolina.

Local Physic and Ghost hunter Jason Guest will lead brave visitors on a spooky 90 minute walking tour of haunted places in Greenville. These walking tours will creep along every Friday and Saturday night in October. You will learn historical facts as well as local folk lore. You will hear about first hand accounts of real ghost stories. It is recommended that you reserve your spot on a tour early, as they are very popular with the locals and visitors in the area.
