Spooky and Gross Halloween Candy at CVS

Drew Taylor
CVS usually has an interesting array of candy and Halloween brings even more fun candy. In addition to the standard Halloween candy options, such as candy corn and mini candy bars, CVS has an affordable selection of spooky and gross Halloween candies. Witch's hands, bags of blood, chocolate eyeballs and gummy spiders fill the candy aisle. Among the wild choices, these four cover all the bases from sweetest to grossest.

Sweetest Halloween Candy: Fun Sweets Halloween Cotton Candy
Festive jack-o-lanterns and Frankenstein faces adorn plastic tubs containing 1.5 ounces of cotton candy. The sturdy lidded containers are safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher. Made in America, this sweet treat is resealable, making it easy to keep the leftover cotton candy fresh. These are 99 cents each.

Inedible Halloween Candy: Frankford Horror Shop Rat in Trap
Possibly the grossest Halloween candy at CVS, the rat in a trap also works as a spooky decoration. This 2.3-ounce gummy candy graphically depicts a rat in a trap. Yuk! It costs $1.99.

Disgusting Halloween Candy: CVS Gummy Candy Body Parts
A cardboard coffin contains ten detailed gummy body parts, including severed fingers, eyeballs, lungs, hearts, and teeth. The lungs are particularly gross. Individual wrapping makes it possible to share the candy organs and appendages or save some for later. Each 2.64-ounce box of gummy body parts costs 99 cents.

Funniest Halloween Candy: Flix Candy Big Stuff Lip Pops
These frighteningly funny .8-ounce lollipops have spooky mouths instead of sticks. The candy looks similar to a pacifier, but these lollipops are for ages four and up. Choose from six animated mouths and three flavors: watermelon, apple or blue raspberry. Lip Pops cost 99 cents each at CVS.

Check the CVS website or sales ad for the latest specials. Many of the 99-cent Halloween candies are currently on sale for 88 cents.

I like the little boxes. I buy the candy and end up eating all of it because I don't get any trick or treaters out here.
