To make the severed foot you will need:
• Meat loaf mix
• Ketchup
• Onion
• Mozzarella cheese
• Cauliflower stem
1. Prepare your meatloaf as you normally would, once mixed shape your meatloaf mixture into the shape of foot with an ankle. Make sure to mold toes and make the foot as realistic as you possibly can.
2. Slice onions into small toe nail shaped slivers. Apply to the tips of the toes of the meatloaf.
3. Using the cauliflower stem shape one end to look like a broken bone. Insert the cauliflower stem into the ankle portion of the meatloaf ensuring that your "broken bone" section is sticking out to give off the severed foot look.
4. Bake at 350 for 35 to 45 minutes. Different ovens will vary.
5. Spread mozzarella cheese generously over the severed foot and ankle and bake for another 10 minutes. You want the cheese to brown and look like skin.
6. Remove from oven and decorate with ketchup around the cauliflower stem for the appearance of blood.
While this food item may be graphic to some it's a hit at most spectacular Halloween parties. To serve your severed foot let your imagination run wild. One tip is to use a shoe box lined in tin foil. Halloween parties are a time to let your creativeness flow and just about anything is possible.
