Today, Halloween is one of the biggest opportunities for parties in Atlanta. You can tell from the traffic, it's the worst traffic day of the year in Atlanta, Georgia.

Make the House Spooky

If you're planning a Halloween party this year, there are several things you can do to make sure it's the spookiest and the most fun party possible. First, you want to make sure you create a sense of spookiness in your home that captures the Halloween spirit. Halloween is all about ghost and goblins, zombies and vampires so plan appropriately.

Decorate the house with fake cobwebs, spooky gravestones in the yard, and top it all off with some creepy music or sound effects.

Keep in mind that lighting is very important. Get some dim lighting complete with a little dry ice fog for added creepiness. Simply place the dry ice in a large cooler somewhere out of the way, and fill it with water. The dry ice has a reaction similar to rolling fog and really makes everything that much creepier. Use some cool orange colored string lights, or even black lights to give the house a creepy glow.

Carve faces into jack-o-lanterns and place them on the porch and in your home. Try some spooky lighting for the graveyard and maybe a hand or two coming out of the ground.

All this will guarantee that your house changes into a haunting location, making it the perfect Halloween party.

Halloween Food to Get Everyone in the Creepy Mood

Nothing like spooky food on Halloween! There are some delicious creepy recipes available to give a party snack a scary twist.

Look for some recipes for "blood punch" and other great ideas such as bat shaped or spider cookies. All of these things really add to the effect. Of course, we can't forget pumpkins! Pumpkin Bars shaped like rotten flesh with gummy worms cut to look like maggots is always a party favorite on Halloween.

Use your favorite recipes but with a spooky slant and they are guaranteed to work.

Halloween Fun Themes for Added Entertainment

After you've decorated and brewed up some spooky snacks, you'll want to come up with a theme for the party. You can make it a 60s theme, a zombie and ghost theme, Addams Family theme is great, or just about any other theme you wish. Or, you can just make the Halloween party a costume theme, and be surprised at all of the wonderful costume ideas.

Give away Halloween prizes for sexiest costume, scariest costume or stupidest costume. Award them something you design and is ideal for the prize being given. Maybe a box with a bloody hand for scariest costume or something a little naughty for sexiest costume.

Play scary movies on your TV set in the background for added ambience. There are a lot of them on television that night or you can rent some classics.

Do some creative planning and you will have an excellent Halloween party that everyone will remember for years. Actually the planning is the most fun so get your friends involved.
