Do not give up! It is so easy to prepare some spooky treats that you will be shocked at the excitement of your guests.
I've separated this article into two sections below. You will find a few treat ideas that kids love that are just perfect for a child friendly Halloween party, but you will also find great snacks that are more suitable for a spookier adult party as well.
Kids Treats
Dirty Worms ~ Mix up a package of chocolate pudding, spoon into Dixie cups until half full, add crushed Oreo cookies and then stick in a few gummy worms. These are so cute and kids just love to play with the worms in the dirt!
Pumpkin Patch Cake ~ Bake a standard chocolate cake in a 13" x 9" pan, then frost with green frosting and stick on those little candy pumpkins! It's that simple and children get so excited about picking out their own pumpkin!
Candied Apples ~ Stick popsicle sticks into several apples then dip into chocolate, caramel or butterscotch sauce and sprinkle with Halloween decorated sprinkles, nuts or crushed candy. Candy Apples have been a favorite treat of children for many years.
Adult Snacks
Brains~ You can purchase a brain mold at your local discount store, then either make a package of jell-o or make your favorite dip, then let it get really cold inside the refrigerator and when you bring it out, quickly place a plate on the open side of your mold and flip. Lift off the mold and you'll have a perfect brain dip!
Buggy Bloody Mary Drinks ~ Once you've mixed up your favorite batch of Bloody Mary's, add some gummy worms or bugs, it is sure to make your guests scream with delight!
The Devil's Eggs ~ Make regular deviled eggs, but add a thin slice of a green olive, with the pimento still in the center, to the top of your egg for the devil's eye!
These are just few great ideas for your Halloween party! Your guests, no matter how young or old are sure to be spooked by these spooky treats! Just get creative! Anything with bugs, brains or blood are perfect for Halloween. The spookier the better!
