Spooky Nerds: Another Amazing Wonka Creation!

Miss Fortune
I do a lot of squealing in the months of September and October; most of that has to do with new Halloween items hitting the shelves in stores. When I spotted the Halloween Spooky Nerds my eyes almost rolled back in my head with sheer toe curling joy. It's more than the cartoon characters in Halloween clothing on the box or the combination of orange and peach Nerds inside the box. It's the fact that it is a limited edition product from one of the world's most famous candy makers, Wonka. Wonka is now a division of Nestle and while some people balked at the sale of the name it has given the somewhat dated series of candy products a whole new life.

The six ounce boxes should not be confused with the mini single serve boxes that are sold for trick-or-treaters. The six ounce boxes sell for about a dollar and the orange and peach flavors will have your mouth watering. The color of the Spooky Nerds are orange and white so when you open the box and see them they have a candy corn appearance. The pieces are the same as other Nerd candies; small and in a variety of sizes. These are not something that I would give smaller kids because they could choke on them. As far as nutrition; a single serving contains 60 calories, 14 grams of carbohydrates and is fat and protein free.

You might not thing that the flavor combination of orange and peach would be great but in this combo it is. The flavors are not separated like some of the smaller Nerd boxes but trust me, if you try Spooky Nerds you will get hooked on them. These are a limited edition product from Wonka and Nestle; chances are there will be some left over after Halloween if you want to score some on the cheap but I wouldn't wait too long to stock up on them. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste; these are something that I plan on using on cupcakes to decorate them for Halloween!

*whine* Sweden just is not into this whole Halloween thang. I'm trying like hell to change that though.. if for no other reason than to get the stores stocking all this goodness.
