Spoon Full Frozen Non-Fat Yogurt: Local Food Review

Bandit
Recently while out shopping after Thanksgiving with my Mom and Sister, we came upon a yogurt shop we had never heard about before. The name of the establishment is "Spoon Full". We were tired from all the early morning shopping and needed a little pick-me-up, so we decided to give this place a try.

As soon as we walked in the door, a very friendly employee named Stacy greeted us. She was very outgoing and made us feel very welcome and appreciated as a customer. She asked if we had ever been to Spoon Full before and we told her this was our first visit. She then explained how everything works and offered us a sample cup of our choice of one of their many non-fat yogurts.

I had a sample of NY cheesecake and it was delicious and tasted just like a slice of cheesecake. The flavor was rich and so creamy and dreamy. My sister sampled the raspberry and said that it tasted just like a fresh raspberry and had a melt-in-your-mouth texture. Mom sampled the chocolate flavor and said it tasted smooth and creamy and was full of rich chocolate flavor. I took a bite of her sample and man, she was right, it is scrumptious! If you are craving chocolate, this will cure your craving!

The Spoon Full yogurt shop offers 26 different toppings, ten non-fat creamy frozen yogurt flavors and 5 flavored syrup toppings. As soon as you walk in through the door, you feel very welcome and the atmosphere is relaxing. There is music playing in the background, but it's not overbearingly loud so as to be disturbing. It's set at more of a subtle and soothing level to add just the right ambience. There are ten tables arranged in a trendy art deco manner with four clear and retro lime green tinted chairs per table. There are no curtains or blinds on any of the windows, which I thought was a nice touch for those who like to gaze out of the window and people watch.

There are multiple soft serve machines against the back wall where you create and swirl your very own frozen yogurt combinations into a cup. You'll find many different enticing flavors of frozen yogurt to choose from such as cappuccino, NY cheesecake, French vanilla, plain, strawberry banana, raspberry, birthday cake, peanut butter, watermelon, cookies n cream and just in time for the holidays there is pumpkin yogurt. Next stop is the fresh fruit buffet bar where you can add yummy fresh fruits such as banana slices, kiwi and strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and mango. Right next to this is the gourmet toppings bar where you can add any toppings such as pecans, coconut flakes, granola, rainbow sprinkles, and mini chocolate chips.

The whole operation is all self-serve. Right next to the dispensing machines are neatly stacked cups. All you do is grab a cup and fill it with your choice of yogurt, top it off with your favorite toppings, and take go to the cash register. Place your cup on the scale where it is weighed and priced. The price is 32 cents per ounce, which is not a bad deal.

After we had eaten our samples, it was time to get serious and decide which flavor to choose. My sister decided to get the vanilla yogurt and she added fresh slices of kiwi and strawberries. Mom chose the chocolate yogurt and added fresh pecan slices and bananas to hers. I took a walk on the wild side and created a tasty blend of kiwi/strawberry, chocolate, and French vanilla. For toppings I added caramel flavored syrup and some coconut flakes. None of us were disappointed in our selection and we savored each tasty bite!

The next time you want frozen yogurt, stop in at Spoon Full. You will not be disappointed. I really love the taste of the frozen yogurt at Spoon Full. There is no bad after taste left in your mouth like there can sometimes be with store bought varieties. The texture is creamy and smooth and seems to melt in your mouth. I truly have never tasted yogurt this good and will definitely be going back!

This location of the Spoon Full frozen yogurt shop we stopped at has only been open for nine months. They are located at 2220 Coit Road in Plano, Texas zip 75075. Their phone number is 972-596-3855. What are you waiting for? Grab your keys and get over there soon if you're in the area. You won't be sorry!

Oh, and they already have a fan page on Facebook ... here is the link so you can check it out.

I highly recommend that everyone who likes frozen yogurt should try to find a Spoon Full location near them. This is not your ordinary frozen yogurt!

I give the Spoon Full frozen yogurt shop 5 out of 5 Gold Stars!
