Sports Songs - Top 10

Katie D
Music is a huge part of any game. Baseball players pick out tracks to play when they go up to bat to get pumped up. Football players on the field beckon for the crowd to get loud before their plays. And after big win, the players and fans celebrate together with a victory song taunting the losing team. There are undoubtedly more than 10 songs that have made an impact in sports, but here are my top 10, along with my reasoning for putting them there.

We are the Champions - Queen
This song is the ultimate in post-game celebrations. When the team gets a big win in a championship game, it's the song that's blaring over the PA system as the team rushes the field.

We Will Rock You - Queen
Shouted at the top of every fan's lungs, this song pumps up the team and lets the other side know you mean business.

Song 2 - Blur
When the game is almost over, and the team has the win in the bag, it's often they bid their opponents farewell with this song. Who hasn't sung "Hey hey hey, goodbye" - the ultimate taunt!

Eye of the Tiger - Survivor
More of a motivational song for athletes, Eye of the Tiger reminds us to push as far as we can.

Kiss them Goodbye - Steam
"Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Them Goodbye" - definite taunt. Victory celebrations expected later...

Take Me Out to the Ball Game - Tin Pan Alley
This song gets the crowd singing at every baseball game, from Little League to the pros.

Fired Up - MC Hush
The title of this song says it all - it gets everyone fired up.

Rock and Roll II (the Hey song) - Gary Glitter
A jumping, stomping, yell at the top of the lungs song that gets fans out of their seats.

Make Noise - Five Stone
When the crowd needs to get involved, this song fits the bill.

Like I said, there are definitely more songs that make us think of sports. Hopefully just reading this list brought back some great sports memories - I know it did for me.
