The Brooklyn campus of LIU offers more than 200 academic programs in business , education, health careers, liberal arts and sciences, nursing and pharmacy, including an accelerated degree program that allows you to earn a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in the space of five years. The campus also offers one on one counseling, mentoring and if necessary tutoring and special needs programs which help students who need extra help pursuing their studies. The campus also offers the personalized attention of a small college with the extensive resources of one of the largest private universities in the United States.
There are small classes at the Brooklyn campus which allow students to communicate closely with their professors and students are able to set up flexible course schedules. Aside from classroom instruction and lectures many classes at the college include cooperative work, fieldwork, and internship opportunities. For example placements at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City or at the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington D.C. have been offered and are still available.Also there is a nationally recognized honors program at the Brooklyn campus.
The Brooklyn campus provides various career planning services. There are services that provide assistance in writing resumes and cover letters and skill assessments. Also these services provide mock interviews,networking nights, career fairs as well as job referral services. This campus of LIU is expansive and it is perfectly landscaped. Within it there are many things to do. There are numerous student clubs and eighteen sports teams. Also there is a theater for the performing arts on campus as well as a Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center which has a swimming pool, a running track and various workout equipment.
This campus of Long Island University offers extensive financial aid packages as well as flexible options for payment making a college education more accessible and more affordable to everyone.
