According to her profile on Lightstalkers, Clinton Hill photographer Stephanie Keith, has been "photographing Haitian Vodou (Voodoo) ceremonies in Brooklyn for the past three years." She recently published the book "Vodou Brooklyn: Five Ceremonies with Mambo Marie Carmel." Keith studied anthropology at Stanford University and photography at the International Center of Photography and New York University, according to Repeating Islands. Her work, written and photographed, has been featured in many well-known publications.

On Aug. 15, 2010, there was a Vodou (Voodoo) celebration in Prospect Park that attracted about 100 people, according to The Root. The celebration was the anniversary of Bwa Kayiman. It relates to Haiti's slave revolt in 1791.The vodou practitioners had a permit for drums in the park until 9 p.m.
