All people of all ages can help in getting the word out about breast cancer. There are several ways to accomplish this and even a whole month to dedicate to breast cancer awareness. To be make it a family event, include children, husbands, aunt & uncles, & grandparents. The more people that are involved in spreading awareness means the more people become aware.

October is breast cancer awareness month. During this month, there is a lot of talk about breast cancer in the news & media. Many companies sponsor walks, lectures & screenings. To take advantage of this, create a team and participate in a local walk. Raise money for your local breast cancer charity by having a bake sale, car wash or even solicit donations from local businesses. Finding a walk is easy, check out this site. http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ home/index.asp

While raising money, wear a pink ribbon on your lapel. This is the symbol for breast cancer. By wearing it, people may ask what it is for. This is the simplest way to spread awareness about breast cancer. Wear it all year round not just October to keep up the conversation. http://www.pinkribbon.com/

Many charities have created bumper stickers and various decals. Get one, or two and put it on your car. Simply spread the word by driving daily and showing off the sticker. Find bumpers sticker here http://www.savethetatas.com/in dex.php/catalog/accessories/

Wear pink. Many people already associate pink with breast cancer awareness, so wearing pink may be the reminder a few women eed to schedule their mammogram. It could save a life & it is just a friendly reminder.

Visit this website. http://www.nbcam.org/index.cfm There are great resources here to utilize for ideas to spread the word. By simply asking a fellow female co-worker if they have had their screening, is spreading awareness.

Many people feel it is a private topic & not to be discussed, but that is why it kills. Make all the women in your family aware of when to get screenings or mammograms & how. Print out info from the Internet and personally hand it to family members & close friends. It is free & the single most effective way to spread breast cancer awareness.
