Spring 2006 Fashion Trends

It's time to hang those winter coats up and get ready for some rocking' fashions for spring this year. There are so many fabulous looks both design and print-wise, guaranteeing something for everyone's fancy this season.

BOLD PRINTS Big and bold prints are huge for 2006, literally! Fabric prints in large graphics and bright colors are prevalent in pretty much every designer's collections this season - and in such variety, too. Ranging in scale sizes, everything from African motifs, floral designs, scarf prints, and palm trees have been spotted on the runways in forecast of this spring. So here's your chance to take your pick and be big and bold this spring.

SWEET INNOCENCE Time to let the little girl inside you come out and play! Spring's white dresses this season are full of girlish details - lace, embroidery, eyelet, seemingly inspired from doilies and monogrammed handkerchiefs stemming from silhouettes and lines from the sixties.

THE KIMONO With a definite Asian influence, robe-like jackets and kimono vintage dresses are very silky and sexy, yet also so comfortable and great on any size woman. These jackets and dresses offer dramatic waistbands and large bows or ties most commonly. Asian flowers are also great accents on these garments, very vintage and delicate in appearance.

THE NEXT SEXY Perhaps inspired by icons of the eighties (think Gianni Versace), designers are creating what appear to be imaginative works of art in the form of apparel. There are a lot of edgy, "outside-the-box" looks involving asymmetry, weaving and wrapping fabrics, mostly in the form of dresses. Some soft, some daring, yet all provocative, these looks are perfect for a party or fun night out.

SHIRTDRESSING This the perfect get-up and go look - the perfect way to look smoking hot while making it look oh-so easy at the same time. Varying from knee to micro-mini length, these dresses are appearing often in white, buttoning up to the collar, reminiscent of wearing a man's work shirt. However, a cool spin on this is some looks offer a button-up closure, but along the hip. The versatility of shirtdresses is so broad, suitable for almost any belt, jacket, and shoes.
